Prep Hikes:

On the 2nd Saturday of each month we are meeting at 10:00am for a fun hike.  Check the schedule for details on where to meet for each hike.

Bucket Brigade & Pioneer Games: 

Feb 27th 7pm @ Moorpark Road Building for Arroyo Vista, Campus Canyon and Conejo Creek

Feb 28th 7pm @ Moorpark Road Building for Wildwood Park, Walnut Canyon,Thousand Oaks and Conejo Valley

In this Trektivity, the youth will decorate, personalize, and prepare buckets that they will take on the trek. The buckets will carry their stuff and double as a chair). Each youth should come prepared with their 5-gallon bucket and lid, and any craft material that they want to use to personalize it. Stake & ward leaders will also bring miscellaneous crafting materials to help you decorate your bucket.

Also, who doesn’t love games? The pioneers did. This will be an evening of fun and a chance to learn some of the games our pioneer ancestors played while on THEIR trek.

Do you have anything in your wardrobe that you could repurpose into Trek Fashion? You probably do. This Trektivity can help the youth learn about pioneer clothing and how to replicate it for their trek. We might even have a fashion show and a photo booth. Skilled seamstresses from Relief Society will come and help us make aprons, skirts, bonnets and men’s pioneer shirts.

Find “Your” Pioneer & Leather Bracelet Making:

Who is your pioneer?  Come dive into family history and find someone whose faith and discipleship laid the foundation for your faith and can be an example to you.  Family History experts will be on hand to help you find your own personal pioneer in your family tree.

Once you find “your pioneer,”  you’ll get to emboss an ancestor’s name on a leather bracelet that you can wear on Trek so you can take that ancestor with you on your journey.

Square Dancing Fun: 

May 21st, 7pm @ the Pinneo Ranch 15498 LaPeyre Ct. Moorpark

Come to the Pinneo Ranch and learn how to square dance. Dance lessons with a real live square dance caller! Even if you come with zero dancing know-how,  you’ll leave knowing how to do-si-do and promenade.  There’s nothing quite as fun as a night on the ranch.
